Herb's fitness philosophy includes a major focus on nutrition! In fact, nutrition is your universe as it is one of the primary factors to dictate your ultimate success whether you are seeking general fitness or working your way up to Ironman competition.
In my mid-twenties I had gained a significant amount of weight....clinically obese with 32.5% body fat! Surprising for those of you know know me now! At age 29 I had several episodes of chest pains which led me to completely alter my menu from a diet that was high in saturated fat and sugar. Overnight, I changed my lifestyle and focused my diet to enjoy food in its whole and natural state. It's not easy, but anyone can achieve the same results if they really desire the change. And I will be your biggest fan to help you along the way.
As a triathlete, I've gone on to enjoy many successes over the last 25 years. Below are just a few of the most memorable::
- 2007 70.3 age group World Champion
- 9 time Ironman World Champion (Kona) competitor, best finish 3rd in age group
- over 20 full distance Ironman races (2.4mi swim/112 mi bike, 26.2 mi run = 140.6 miles!)
